Poet McGonagall is in luck. Some weeks ago it was intimated in this column that Mr J. Graham Henderson, Weensforth Mill, Hawick, had promised to forward a tweed suit to McGonagall. Consequent on the delay in its transmission, the poet began to fear that he had been hoaxed, but Mr Henderson sends a communication to the Courier office to the effect that the suit has now actually arrived in the city, and that arrangements are being made for its presentation. All the poet now wants to complete him is spring weather. Someone has also suggested that he would be none the worse of a good crop, and McGonagall’ s chief grievance is that the boys will persist in the chorus, “Get your hair cut.”
