Gem of the Day Statistics

There are 270 people who have registered for the “Gem of the Day” by email service, since the site was relaunched in September 2011. Since you don’t have to receive it every day, deliveries are spread across the week as shown below:

About the Recipients

When registering to receive their regular dose of literary lunacy, recipients are asked to answer a few questions about themselves. Answering these questions is entirely voluntary, but allows a (profoundly unscientific) picture to be built up of the average McGonagall fan. The charts below omit those people who declined to answer the question concerned, which is why the total number of people is different in each case.

This location data can be plotted on a map, should you be looking for a holiday destination with a proper appreciation of the poetic muse. Stronger colours indicate larger numbers of recipients in that country:

Finally, a few questions asked of gem recipients:

Have you ever been the recipient of a “Glasgow nod?”
If so, what were the circumstances?

(well… why not? It’s as relevant as the other questions).
